Learn to Play
Program Overview
Learn to Play is a GREAT & FUN way to learn the basics of hockey. If your child can walk on skates, they can join the program. The focus of Learn To Play is to get the kids comfortable on the ice wearing their equipment, basic hockey moves and having fun!
Children as young as 4 years old can sign up and kids as old as 8 or 9 start with Learn to Play before moving up to a higher level.

Eligibility
Any child is welcome to participate regardless of where you live. However, only children that live in the De Pere, West De Pere, and Denmark school districts will be able to play for DPYH once they graduate to Mites (or higher levels ).
When
Each session consists of 6 classes with the first session beginning in November. There are breaks for holidays.

$60 per session

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sign my child up for multiple sessions?
Answer: YES! You will need to register for each session separately.
What will my child need for equipment?
Your skater will need full hockey gear. Used gear is a great option for beginners and can be found at Play It Again Sports in Ashwaubenon.

Learn to Play Session 1 (2025-26)
Registration Process
Step 1: Each player needs a current USA Hockey number - you will need to register with USA Hockey to obtain a USA Hockey number for each player that will be entered and confirmed during the registration process for DPYH.
Step 2: Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. At the end, you will be prompted to register additional skaters.
Step 3: To complete registration please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or checking account information available - all payments are handled via the secure registration site.
If you need to rent equipment, please contact our Equipment Coordinator at Equipment@dpyh.org. You will get a full bag of gear for a $100 deposit (returned to you when you return the equipment).
